Student Coordinator: Sultan Sharrief
Sultan Sharrief is a graduate of the University of Michigan, with a Bachelors of Arts in Film and Video Studies. As a student, he was an intern for the Ann Arbor Film Festival (2yrs); the Assistant Director for Arts on the Hill (3yrs); a Resident Advisor (R.A.-1yr), an intern for EXTRA and CELEBRITY JUSTICE (1yr), Producer of Fulfill a Hankering (a 25 minute 16mm film); Producer of The Spiral Project (a 35mm feature film), Filmmaker of Mural (a feature documentary made for the University of Michigan), a student representative at the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (2 yrs), a student representative at the Cool Cities Conference (2 yrs), and the founder and Captain of the Michigan Ice Carving Team. He was also the writer and director of Bilal's Stand.
Course Professor/Project Advisor: Terri Sarris
Terri Sarris teaches multi-camera studio, single camera digital video, and film production at the University of Michigan in the Screen Arts and Culture Department. With Film Video Professor Bambi Haggins, she developed and teaches an integrated studies/production course entitled, "The History, Theory and Production of the Television Situation Comedy". Along with Department of Dance Professor Peter Sparling, Terri was chosen for the U-M Faculty Interdisciplinary Associates Program in winter of 2002 to develop and teach a collaborative course in "Videodance." Sarris is the recipient of numerous grants and awards including grants from the Michigan Council for the Arts, the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, and an "Annie" Award from the Washtenaw Arts Council. She was also one of the producers of Bilal's Stand.
